Greetings OHHS Classmates,  6 photos
Your Editor was in Grand Haven early May '14.

Lake Michigan finally saw "daylight"  It was 93% covered this winter!
The city was grooming the beach for the busy summer.  The "Oval" hasn't changed since we hung out there as teens in early 60's

The roller rink where we went for sox hops is gone, but the VFW Hall where the dances first begun is still there.  The Grand (movie theater) remains.   The old Winn Schulers is now Kirby's Bar & Grille (owned by Gilmore Collection ~ who also own The B.O.B. and Roses on Reeds Lake)

Enjoy Your 4th of July weekend.

  1. Wow. I'd swear these were taken 50 years ago! Good memories of GH. Remember the dancing lights? I recall them dancing to Aaron Copeland's "Grand Canyon Suite".

  3. And it was dancing WATERS.(I knew that!) Attribute my mistakes to the passage of 51 years --- that was the last time I saw GH. The dancing waters live on; I just read the Wikipedia article!
